MCHA to Honor the 2015 Hospitality Professional of the Year Janine Chicourrat, General Manager, Portola Hotel & Spa and present a Lifetime Achievement Award honoring former President and Golf Professional of Quail Lodge to William Lawson Little III.
MONTEREY, Calif. – February 18, 2016 - The Monterey County Hospitality Association is holding its Annual Dinner Celebration and Awards on Friday, February 26th, 2016 at the Portola Hotel & Spa at 6:00PM. Tickets are available for $150.
The evening program will include commendations from Congress, State Senators and Assembly members and other dignitaries as members of the MCHA recognize an esteemed peer with the prestigious "Hospitality Professional of the Year" Award.
This year's recipient is Janine Chicourrat, General Manager of the Portola Hotel & Spa.
Her career has encompassed successful tenures at some of California’s most renowned hospitality companies, including Pebble Beach Resorts and the Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant Group. She now brings nearly 20+ years of operations and management leadership to her position as general manager of the Portola Hotel & Spa, where she spearheaded their U.S. Green Building Council LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification.
Ms. Chicourrat has served three different terms as a member of the MCHA Board of Directors. She is currently in her 3rd term, which includes nine total years, and is also a member of the Executive Committee. She was president of MCHA in 2011. Janine was also instrumental in the reconfiguration of the Monterey Conference Center. Working with stakeholders, city staff and elected officials she was part of a team that overcame obstacles to reach a compromise that worked for all.
We are proud to honor her with this well-deserved award.
In addition, we will be honoring William Lawson Little III with the inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award from MCHA, which recognizes and promotes individuals who have made a significant contribution to Monterey County’s hospitality and tourism industry. Mr. Little will be posthumously recognized for his 39 years of service that includes not only his contributions in the business community, but also his accomplishments as a mentor, humanitarian and devoted family man.
