A new Monterey Hospitality Association and California Restaurant Association partnership adds value-oriented benefits to better serve its members and local hospitality industry
Monterey County Hospitality Association, the region’s advocacy trade-based organization for the local hospitality industry, announces a reciprocal partnership with the California Restaurant Association to bring value-oriented benefits to MCHA members. New extended benefits include discounts on everyday restaurant-oriented products and services, comprehensive training tools, and essential legal compliance resources - all of which provide a competitive advantage to MCHA restaurant members.
“In light of the recent policy changes at the state level, this partnership is more important than ever for restaurant owners and managers,” comments Rick Aldinger, board chair of MCHA, CRA board member and Big Sur River Inn General Manager. “As of just last month, restaurants are now responsible for all food handling certification for employees. This partnership will extend direct discounts to restaurants, and offset MCHA’s revenue-based dues.”
This first of its kind partnership with California Restaurant Association, aims to expand restaurant resources by giving restaurants the opportunity to support their local advocacy efforts, while also receiving benefits and knowledge from the state level. “The CRA seeks to amplify the voice of restaurants in state and local policy making,” adds Peter Fenollo, Director of Industry Engagement at the California Restaurant Association. “As the statewide advocacy organization for the restaurant and food service industry, the CRA zealously fights for policies which foster a positive business climate for the industry. When legislation is being considered that may impact restaurant businesses, the CRA will encourage MCHA members to join forces, uniting our voices to advocate for legislative outcomes that support the prosperity of California restaurants.”
With this mutually beneficial partnership, the CRA and MCHA have the opportunity to advocate for their restaurant members locally and support the success of all California restaurants.
"We are thrilled to work with the California Restaurant Association to bring additional benefits to local restaurants. While supporting the local hospitality industry through MCHA membership, restaurants can now receive benefits and discounts that directly help their bottom line while making a difference via advocacy at the state level. It's a win-win for all," says MCHA Executive Director Kristin Horton. Benefits restaurant members will receive from this partnership include:
- Workers compensation insurance
- Comprehensive and supplemental health insurance plans
- Credit card payment and point of sale systems
- A full suite of employee hiring and training tools
- Music streaming licenses
- Legal compliance webinars
- One free ticket to the Western Foodservice and Hospitality Expo
“We hope that MCHA and CRA’s collaboration will encourage a brighter future for restaurant members, enhanced business opportunities, and stronger advocacy in influencing policies,” adds Aldinger. “This partnership highlights MCHA's dedication to continually advancing the interests of its members and fostering success within Monterey County's hospitality industry.”
