The formal organization sponsoring the Coalition is the Monterey Peninsula Issues Political Action Committee. MPIPAC is a 501 c 4 exempt organization.

The Coalition is governed by a Board of Directors composed of a representative of each community organization contributing $2,000 or more to the coalition, three committee chairs and the two co-chairs of the Coalition.

The Coalition has hired a local water issues expert to help guide its activities and will hire legal counsel when necessary to guide its PUC activities.

Provide education about the dire economic impacts of the Cease and Desist Order and the Regional Water Project as the only PUC-approved solution to our water supply crisis.

Provide strong and unified business and community support forcompletion of the Regional Water Project on time to avoid the draconian Cease and Desist Order-imposed cutbacks in water availability and restore the habitat and fishery of the Carmel River; and

To monitor and control the costs, to the extent possible, of water rate increases due to the Regional Water Project and other projects.Participants:The Coalition of Peninsula Businesses is initially composed of
